EDG608 Geographic Information Systems in History and Archaeology<\/h2>\n

The course explores the theoretical and methodological backgrounds related to the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in History and Archeology and attempts to provide an introduction to the techniques used to acquire, manage and visualize spatial information in historical and archaeological applications. In the course, the students will learn basic procedures for the integration, processing, analysis and presentation of spatial data and become familiar with the use of popular GIS software packages through application examples using existing research data at the levels of excavation, landscape and\/or the urban environment.<\/p>\n
